    Disappointed

    Worked perfectly for a few hours in my impact gun , then I used it with a reciprocating , after a few minutes tool stopped working. Follow investigations I found one if battery contacts had fallen out of adapter. So I decided to dismantle adaptor to find cause . What I found was poor quality construction , and poor soldering. So it’s now in the bin. Could work well with too that don’t vibrate much , but for me useless.

    Gives new life to your old style Dewalt NiCad tools allowing the use of the latest Lithium-Ion batteries

    I have been concerned for some time that my treasured Dewalt battey powered tools would become redundant when their Nicad batteries eventual fail. The adapter which allows me to use the new and much improved Lithium-Ion slide on batteries is just what I needed. The plastic moulding of the adapter is a close fit to my old tools, if perhaps a little tight. The Lithium-ion battery slides on well and drives the old dril driver and nailer perfectly. The new adapter/battery combination is lighter than the old NiCad 18v battery without increasing the size of the power pack to any great extent.

    Saves me time and money.

    Being able to use the power of lithium irom batteries has breathed new life in to old equipment. Old drills and saws perform as good as new if not better than new for longer. Less down time for tool and a quicker result for me. Only need to carry one type of battery and charger for all my tools. Perect solution.

    Mixed opinions!

    I’m in two minds about this adapter. First off, I was able to use a new XR battery with no problems, and the adapter fitted fine. However, I’ve had two problems so far. The main one is that with the battery in place, you can’t easily press both release lugs at the same time to remove the adapter from the drill. This is because the battery sits in your palm and your fingers can’t reach the lugs. You have to remove the battery first and then the adapter. And secondly, I dropped my drill and the adapter snapped clean in half. Luckily, I had a tube of Gorilla Super glue, and this fixed it. I guess it’s not that resilient or durable in extreme conditions. Update: OK, as others have said, this is cheap rubbish. It recently packed up, and on inspection the wire had fallen away from the terminal inside the adaptor. This was due to a poorly soldered dry joint. As i cant get to the terminals, this has now been consigned to the bin.
