Great if it's compatible with your dock
I bought 2 of these, one for my Pure Contour D100i radio/dock, and one for my Cambridge Audio Sonata hifi amp/dock. It works great with the Cambridge Audio Sonata, but not at all with the Pure Contour, which simply says 'No iPod' on the display when it's plugged in. I think the difference is that the Sonata is an Analogue dock, but the Contour is a Digital one. This is a shame, because the sound quality and ease of use with the Sonata is is very good and at the price this adapter is good value for money. I've found a new home for the other adapter, so I'm not too sad, but beware if you're considering buying one!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Had to use work around to get to work
Only 3 stars because it didn’t do what I wanted BUT read on..... This did not work in my case BUT this could be my fault as it appears that it’s actually my Logitech air speaker that isnt allowing this to work.....however I can’t remember reading anywhere that it wouldn’t work with Logitech. If I had I wouldn’t have bought it!!!!! However......on trying it the Bluetooth paired straight away with no problem as it took power from the Logitech dock but my speaker would not allow any audio to pass directly through the dock into the speaker. All was not lost though as I subsequently bought another cable consisting usb (for power), 3.5mm audio and MALE 30 pin adaptor....which cost only a few £’s......power is now derived via the usb/phone charger, audio is received via the Bluetooth audio adaptor (female) and passed to the speaker via the male end of the cable and through the 3.5 audio plugged into the socket on the back of the Logitech. Ok, the dock doesn’t get used but at least I can now use my Echo to send Spotify to the speaker! 😊Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Bose SoundDock now more useful than when it was new.
Apple changed from the 30 pin phone connections but the Bose speaker can be used with 3.5mm phone jack cable however thats a bit cumbersome so it stopped getting used at all. Apple then abandoned that as well and the speaker lived in a cupboard for years. The iDock (it shows up on Bluetooth as that) is a fabulous plug & play device. For us it was instant and easy set up. We didn't need the passcode. There's a mold line around it which slightly spoils the nice shape but it is glossy smooth with two small lights on top (right hand side) to say what it's doing. The speaker is now available to any bluetooth device without needing to leave it in the dock, so it's better than new really because everyone can use it. If you've read this far - get one. Perfect for what I wanted it for
Bought a new LG TV for my kitchen wall. The speaker wasn’t that great. I had a bose speaker I hadn’t used in years as I never bought the I phone 5 adaptor for it. It's pairs with 2 Bluetooth devices simultaneously and switches in between when one those starts to play music. The other one is paused. There is NO audible hiss or other in wanted sound when moo music is playing. The sound dock portable remote control can pause/play go to next/previous song when playing from Spotify on android. Best Christmas present to myself! Bose dock has a new lease of life because it now plays music from PC i.e. internet radio, music from android phone plus iTunes music off PC. Sound quality from PC excellent although not as good from the phone. This is probably down to configuration on my part. Installation was very easy and simple. Well worth the money.
