nice radios - could use more thoughtful instructions
These are nice radios at an attractive price. I use the VOX feature to check audible alarms while testing the sensors remotely without requiring a helper. My only objection is that they can be complex to operate if you use them only occasionally. The push-to-talk communication mode, of course, is straightforward and intuitive, but enabling special features can be hard to remember. I usually just copy relevant parts of the user manual and leave the copy with the equipment. But the instructions for these radios are in an oversize fold-out format - always a bad idea. Manufacturers should NEVER format user guides in a larger size than 8-1/2 x 11 inches - hard to file - hard to copy. A plasticized basic instruction card would be a good idea too.
