CamCaddy 2 Camera Universal Battery Charger
I chose this particular camera battery charger mainly because of its LCD display, which provides all the information necessary to identify the charge status of the battery being charged. I have other battery chargers, which can charge a greater variety of batteries, e.g. cylindrical, but they all rely in the main upon LEDs to identify the charge status of a battery. It is not really possible with these chargers to determine when the charge cycle will be complete. It could be 1 minute or 1 hour. With the CamCaddy2 this guesswork is reduced. Another interesting feature are the options available to power this charger. The CamCaddy2 can be powered from a laptop, PC or USB (5V) mains (240Vac) / car plug (12V). These charging options are external to the charger itself, which is remarkably light and easy to carry, although fairly large. I possess chargers half its size. On the handful of occasions I have used the CamCaddy2, it appears remarkably fast at charging batteries of around 1000mAh, accomplishing the task well within 1 hour, using the mains adapter. I cannot comment upon its durability or reliability because it has received little use since purchased. It feels very light to the touch, almost flimsy in construction and I cannot imagine it would survive rough treatment, which is why I have purchased a strong case for it and all its accessories.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great universal charger
I did analyze the specs of all available universal chargers with USB input, and purchased the CamCaddy2 and the Kodak UC-200. After use and tests I think the CamCaddy2 is superior, more reliable, easy to use and fit bigger batieres, also the display provides useful information (But I would rather see the rate of charge instead of two representations of the battery load state: icon + percentage). I measured the charge efficiency and is fine but not great (71% of the consumed energy es delivered to the battery). The stand-by consumption is fairly low (58 mA), therefore if you leave it plugged to a battery pack after charge is complete the wasted energy is no to much, but not negligible either. I measured the terminal charge voltage of Lithium-Ion batteries and its was 1.1 Volts lower than it should (4.09 volts instead of 4.20, despite de display indication 4.2 V), with the result of batteries not being charged at full capacity (perhaps only to 90% or something like that) or as fast as it could be. I contacted the company with that question but I got no answer. Nevertheless, I think thet CamCaddy2 is the best USB powered universal battery charger out there,Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
