  • Lovely unit, easy to fit and good specs.

Having been forced to replace my motherboard, I needed a new PSU of 'at least 500w' for the new one. After a good bit of research on several sites, I found this one on ebay. Not the most expensive, and not the cheapest either, but it had good technical specs. When it arrived I was surprised at how big the box was, but on openeing it, much of the size was due to dense foam packing - that was a good sign. It showed care. Lifting it out I though it looked huge, too, but on fitting it into the PC case, it's no bigger than the 250w unit it was replacing; it's the large fan which makes it look big. I like that it has an on/off switch, too; I hate the idea of 'live' plugging! It has all the connectors a modern PC could need - 5 SATA, 24-pin mobo, 4- and 6-pin 12v, and a couple of 4 pin Molex for IDE. Nothing extraneous - no LED lights for instance - but came with fixing screws and a couple of zip ties to keep the cables tidy. If I have a criticism at all it's that the instruction booket is tiny, and therefore a little difficult to read, but as all the connectors are pretty standard, it's not really an issue. Anyone building or upgrading a PC with this would know what he (or she) was doing anyway, I'd have thought. In operation it's quiet and unobtrusive - the case fan is noisier! Only time will tell what its reliability is like, but if it's as good as the presentation and packaging, it'll last for ages.

  • it works as expected

it works as expected. 5 sata drives connected, and none of them randomly reboots as was the case with the unbranded supply I used before.

  • Quality, quiet and efficient.

All good so far, plenty of scope for future add ons.
