While SAVED BY THE BELL: THE NEW CLASS never became quite the sensation that its precursor SAVED BY THE BELL was, its success did last for seven consecutive seasons. The show follows the new group of students who roam the hallways of Bayside High after Zack, Kelly, Lisa, Slater, and Jessie graduate. A fresh, young cast is joined by two SAVED BY THE BELL veterans, Dennis Haskins as Principal Richard Belding, and Dustin Diamond as "Screech" Powers. The stage is set for some intense drama, romantic complications, and even some new friendships in the 26 episodes that comprise Season Five. The gang (with the addition of newcomer Liz Miller) embarks on adventures in Paris, the great outdoors, and of course, the neighborhood mall. While the upbeat tone of previous seasons in maintained, Season Five also addresses more serious subjects like drug use and discrimination.

One of the best seasons of the long-running series!
This is a great, hard-to-find DVD! Watching this show sure brings back memories (miss you Teen-NBC!), and this DVD provides the long-awaited opportunity to see this show. This season is one of my favorites because of the unique style, character development, new Max, and plenty of episodes taking place outside of school. Despite the lack of bonus features on the DVD, the sound and color are good. Recommend this DVD for any Saved By the Bell fan, and those who aren't familiar to the show should check this out as well. Hope the rest of Peter Engel's shows make it to DVD as well.
