Triple-bill of Westerns from the great Italian director, Sergio Leone. 'A Fistful of Dollars' (1964) is a remake of the Kurosawa classic 'Yojimbo' and features Clint Eastwood in his first big-screen starring role. Laconic gunslinger the Man With No Name (Eastwood) makes a financial killing by playing two feuding families off each other in a small Southwestern town. In 'For a Few Dollars More' (1965), the Man With No Name reluctantly joins forces with bounty hunter Colonel Mortimer (Lee Van Cleef) to battle psychotic bandit El Indio (Gian Maria Volonte) and his gang of outlaws. Finally, 'The Good, The Bad and The Ugly' (1966) forms the final part of the trilogy that brought Eastwood to Hollywood's attention.

The trilogy concludes with the most ambitious of the series, THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY. Eastwood and Van Cleef return once more though this time the pair are upstaged by the brilliant Eli Wallach (THE GODFATHER PART III).

    Spaghetti westerns at their best.

    It’s been years since I first saw this trilogy so it was wonderful to watch it again. Fortunately I didn’t remember all that happened in these films so it was really enjoyable. The characters all had their own personalities and you could choose whether you liked them or not, but they were all entertaining. A very good buy.
