The Denon AVR AVR-5803 7.1 Channel 200-Watt Receiver is designed to consolidate and drive a home theater system by integrating stereo, television, movies, and other audio sources into one easily controlled yet powerful unit. This type of home theater receiver combines an amplifier with the ability to connect multiple A/V components, generate surround sound, produce professional-quality audio, process high-definition video signals, then deliver it all to home theater speakers from one unit with one remote control and a single display. Having a single unit perform multiple A/V tasks makes for an easy setup, but in the case of the Denon AVR AVR-5803 7.1 Channel 200-Watt Receiver, it does not sacrifice power. This receiver features a 7.1 channel 200-watt amplifier that includes a built-in subwoofer crossover. All of this utility is housed in a black case that is 8.5 inches high, 17.13 inches wide, and 20.63 inches deep, and it weighs 63 pounds. The front panel has a large LED display screen, and the on-board controls include two large rotary knobs for volume and input selection. The Denon AVR AVR-5803 7.1 channel 200-watt digital receiver has two 7.1 channel preamp inputs to accommodate outboard decoders, including SACD players and DVD audio component players. The receiver features THX Ultra2 certification, which means it can process and deliver full THX theater sound. The amplifier produces 170 watts into 7 channels at 8 ohms through the 7.1 channel output section. The receiver has dual 32-bit SHARC processors that handle the surround sound decoding of multi-channel audio. The Denon AVR AVR-5803 has DTS 96/24 decoding and Dolby digital headphone processing for high-fidelity private listening. The Denon AVR 5803 also features Denon Link, which allows input and digital transfer of high-definition information from other Denon Link-compatible components. This home theater receiver and amp has output for up to three rooms, so that true surround home theater audio can be experienced in up to three locations. Setup and control of information is done with the help of a fully integrated onscreen display that uses the video monitor to show the full range component guide. Component video switching is available across 3 inputs and 1 output. Digital inputs include 6 optical inputs, 5 coaxial inputs, and 1 AC-3 RF input. There are also 2 optical digital outputs. Video conversion capability can transfer composite to S-Video or composite and S-Video to component video. This feature does not alter the image quality, but it does allow convenient setup and installation. All channels have banana plug-compatible terminals, and the system includes spaces for up to 40 AM/FM station presets. The Denon AVR AVR-5803 includes an Akfis RC-8000 LCD touchscreen remote control. The remote features a rechargeable battery and a base with an auxiliary antenna. This ensures that the remote is always functional and that there is never interference from other A/V equipment. Great receiver, I have owned , several flagship receiver's and this one, is so very easy,to set up , and my turn table sound , so clear, snap & crackle, non existent,surround ,it's outstanding , you have the quiet,dialogue, to spine tingling sound which will wow,family,and friend's,HD sound,not even in the same class,3-D, just run HDMI TO TV ,and run optical,to this workhorse, and enjoy for years to come.
