    Great film Dickensian style but a love story with a HAPPY end!

    Had a copy when first released but the disc was recently left out of its box while wrapping a birthday gift. a small piece of tape became attached and my sweet girl tried removing it. Result part of the label came off! I had not realised the rear of these labels is where the data is stored - remove part of that label - result - disc is ruined! had to buy because its always been a favourite Dickens style film!

    A very worthy screen production that is a credit to the brilliant book

    After watching other film adaptations of Sarah Waters books I had almost given up hope of seeing a worthy screen version. This production of Fingersmith is definitely worth watching and finally captures the essence and depth of her work. Beautifully filmed, brilliant costumes and a very well cast ensemble bring all the details of this novel together and replicate the original story in both dialogue and atmosphere.

    Brilliant, watch it!

    It is based on a rich, dense novel, with the breadth of Victorian writing. The characters are vividly acted and the narrative is very well adapted from the novel. It shows the underside of Victorian England - crime, squalor, pornography and sexuality. No cons as far as I was concerned. It is a brilliant piece of work, thank you BBC and the team.
