Title: Lullabys Legends and Lies. The album yielded three hits, Daddy What If, Marie Laveau (Bobby's first ever #1 hit) and The Winner. Ten other songs feature Silverstein's weird and often ironic twist on the country song.

Reviews"Bare gathered fourteen Silverstein story-songs and sang them with a deep, knowing voice that held every bit of plot and humor and wisdom up for display.", "A set of loose, playful and funny story-songs....The best material here revolves around life's absurd -- oftentimes downright Kafkaesque -- happenstance."
Had Bobby Bare's "Lullabies, Legends and Lies" as a vinyl album many years ago.
Very much along the lines of Johnny Cash with lots of humour.
The songs were mostly written by a guy called Shel Silverstone and I would defy anyone hearing some or these songs not to laugh out loud.
