Excellent performance of a neglected work of music.
This a fascinating early effort to blend the influence of jazz into modern music and opera. The series "Enartete Music" was a wonderful effort to restore and perform music that the censorship of the Nazis had left long-neglected. I have learned about several composers like Schulhof, Rathaus, Grosz, and Zemlinsky, and have broadened my knowledge of Krenek, Korngold, and Weill. The CDs are well recorded by excellent artists, and the booklets and documentation are well-written and very informative.
