Great film from a great director
This film defines everything that is great about British cinema. Shane Meadows is a true visionary who makes gritty, very realistic films that are usually based around the rigours of everyday, British life. This film is no exception to that rule and comes complete with a slasher movie twist. Brilliantly directed and acted, with the likes of Paddy Consadine and Toby Kebbel providing blinding central performances amongst some great acting from the rest of the cast. A masterpiece by Shane Meadows. Very credible. You feel you've met all the individual characters before. Paddy Considine convincingly plays Richard, a soldier out to avenge his brother's murder. The best scene is where he is standing beside the road and Lucky's gang stop in the 2CV "You'd better get to me before I get to you". Chilling. I must have watched it a dozen times.
