Reviews4 Stars Out of 5-"Effervescent Songs, Sympathetically Orchestrated...", "Cleverly chaotic, the album capitalizes on the rolling blankets of warmth that soon follow an ocean rain.", 4 stars out of 5 -- "Psychedelic sex shanties, crooned beneath a Sinatra moon and swathed in the Parisian strings of Piaf and Brel.", 5 stars out of 5 -- "A disparate, one-off masterpiece in an already amazing oeuvre, OCEAN RAIN was an album of unparalleled scope and ornateness...", 4 stars out of 5 -- "Pushing acoustic guitars to the fore on three songs...the band employed a far more direct compositional approach, with Ian McCulloch's lyrics eschewing doomy portent for universal human connection."

  • Classic album from the 80's

An amazingly good album withbexcelkent production, and entertaing content,i had this originally on vynal l.p. but now use C.D. ,gret songs with weird lyrics ,and McCullough's emotive vocals, the cd. Has some exrra tracks, though really they are obvious add on afterthoughts , to fill up playing time, as withnthe L.P. this recording doesnt need them ,its a classic work.
