QUINCY AT HIS BEST
This is a great early example of what Quincy Jones would go on to achieve with the likes of Michael Jackson, Donna Summer & The Brothers Johnson in future years! Here Q J has moved slightly away from his Jazz roots to produce work in the Soul 'N Funk genre and what a magnificent piece of work this proved to be... Everything must Change with Teddy Pendergrass vocalising, is now considered to be a musical milestone but there's plenty more music here to like! Along Came Betty is a stunning reminder of Quincy's ability to bring jazz into the mainstream: This is nothing short of a masterpiece from start to finish and for my money outshines all of his pop work with Michael Jackson!
