Good but not as good as Prometheus
Enjoyable and quick moving but far too predictable . Not enough 'grand effects' and too much reliance on theoretical deviations of an android. And an android rebuilt by an inexperienced crew member using .......what? Nails and string maybe? So, we are expected to believe that one crew member and one android head, can fly, navigate and live aboard a very old totally alien craft to an unknown destination and then take it over by killing all the inhabitants! Yup, we believe that, of course. As I say, enjoyable in itself but forget any quality approaching Prometheus.

Alien, No Way
What has happened to Ridley Scott, these last two films are a shadow of Alien, the story was a bit predictable, and would a so called professional put so many peoples lives at risk, and there must have been a way to determine a new synthetic from an old one, I think you would make sure. This film could have had a twist in that the giants were destroyers creating everything that was bad and another race who were the creators. By the way Exodus was a bit poor also. I used to be a big fan of Ridley Scott films but I think he has lost his mojo.

not alien or aliens
they should've stopped at Aliens, maybe 3, at a real push. but I guess the money machine needs to keep rolling. comedy blood pool pratfalls and massive plot holes, and who stores numerous highly flammable fuel in unprotected containers on a drop ship? and how were they going to get the colonists down to a new planet if they only had one ship capable of landing, with a ridiculous digger arm bolted onto it... etc etc however, i stick it on in the bcakground when im working as its pretty to look at and entertaining in a ridiculous way, shame its associated with those 2 legendary first films.

great potential utterly squandered.
the physical product is great. high quality picture, great audio. the story however is terribly disappointing and undoes the one interesting invention that Prometheus introduced, the Engineers. they are written out without explanation or depth, so we end up with little we havent seen before. not one of the characters is anything but a cipher and the twist can be seen half an hour before the film ends. it didnt need to be this way. Neill Blomkamp's film should not have been cancelled for this one.

ALIEN COVENANT provides greater coherence
Having watched the first prequel to ALIEN (PROMETHEUS) I was somewhat disappointed. However, this second prequel ALIEN COVENANT definitely did not disappoint. I understand there is to be a third and final prequel to ALIEN and this latest film has certainly whetted my appetite,

Very good follow up to Prometheus, well acted and carrying on a much loved sci-fi series. Took a little while to get to the action, but altogether a great movie. Hope there will be another one in the future?

Alien - another movie
Alien. Yep another alien movie... the concept is getting old but not yet stale. By now the plot holds very little in the new shock/horror department.... but the movie still holds the attention and keeps you enthralled in the twists and turns. Still a female hero, and still reliant on synthetic humans (Robot/android beings) fights with scuttling creepy-crawlies (so hard to zap) and giant acid blood zeno-morphs (so hard to kill) and a crew of expendable humans.... Yep, another alien film, but providing good entertainment that you can loose yourself in.... What was that scuttling sound? or did I imagine it??
