  • Style of book stronger than its content

At first sight this is an amazing book - and it is indeed a beautiful book in design, format and style. However, it is somewhat disappointing in its content. When one reads any section, it is either theoretical or anecdotal about organising. It is as if written for a 'chatty' magazine, rather than being a methodical handbook that one could follow - which was what I had expected. The index is non existent, so if you would really like a tutorial on, say, decluttering, you won't be able to find it because the book is organised by room of the house. Even that is incomplete because mainly storage areas like garages or cellars are not really included in their own right - bizarrely. Nevertheless, the book contains good ideas and tips and on that level it is worthwhile. You will get ideas from it and you will enjoy holding it and browsing in it. But if you think it will really help you revolutionise your life and get that clutter all shifted and lead to a more streamlined you, you will only be partially successful and happy. But as a wedding present to set up home say, yes it could be enjoyed and appreciated.
