Gorgeous high quality advent calendar, very well made and lovely book selection although text in books is tiny!
Firstly, the PROs.... this is a truly lovely advent calendar! Such a refreshing change to chocolate ones and the expensive ones with toys etc.. (that often don't live up to expectation!). The design and presentation of this calendar is beautiful with a lovely Christmas winter scene when you open it up, lots of detail for little ones to look at! It's very well made too, nice thick quality board and easy to open advent 'windows' that are not flimsy. The books are very sweet too and (so far, as we're only on day 3!) the stories themselves are good and varied for girls and boys :) The CONs.... Only one 'niggle', the books are very cute and perfect size for little hands (8cm x 8cm) but the text inside is TINY!! I mean, it really is quite small. I have very good eyesight and I struggled to read this to my wriggly toddler who insisted on holding the book. It looks like these were originally larger books but just been scaled right down for the advent calendar without the text being adjusted and therefore very small and tricky to read. So to summarise, I'd highly recommend getting this calendar as it is sooo cute, well made and lovely and kids will LOVE the teeny books but just be prepared to read with a magnifying glass!!!
