  • Great movie and one of the last black and white pictures made.

This movie was released in 1971, and should be a cult classic. Film was produced in black and white, which makes it a timeless movie with regards to the era, but brings with it the theme of high school and what the future of each of us will be. Has many characters that later became popular movie stars, and has a good basic story to the movie. Highly recommend it, there was a sequel produced, but this is the real deal here.

  • Back to the fifties again

The film is in black and white which makes it special for taking place in 1952. the cast of characters (they are all listed, so I won't name them here) are exceptional playing the age of sexual innocence and boredom living in a small mid west town with nothing to look forward too, except the same thing day in and day out. there is a lot of small town emotion in this film. I can see why the book was a best seller. It's a keeper.

  • A film that launched a couple of careers

I grew up in Texas in the ‘50s, but (because it’s a big state) never made it up to the panhandle. Nevertheless, there’s a lot here I can identify with, as I imagine anyone who grew up in rural America in the fifties will be able to, as well. A good script, interesting characters/plot, well acted, and beautifully photographed. Worth more than one viewing.

  • High quality classic picture.

This is a real gem. Introduces Cybill Shepherd. Has a lot of other stars early in their careers. Crystal clear picture and sound. Great movie night experience!
