Excellent trimmer
Even though I’m a 69 year old man needing a shoulder replacement soon I am able to still maneuver this trimmer on an eight foot ladder. It is a relatively heavy trimmer but it cuts remarkably well. Makes fairly quick work of challenging projects. If I can handle it most healthy adults will do just fine. Just take a break every so often.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Heavy and poorly designed clipper that is difficult to use.
The pole hedge trimmer is very heavy and awkward to use. The majority of the weight is at the end of the pole in the motor, which makes it difficult to maneuver. The shoulder strap that supposedly supports the weigh is of little use because the pole has to be positioned in many configurations. The settings of 0, 45 & 90 degrees do not come close to meeting the positioning needs of trimming bushes of various heights and depths. If you try to trim a large and tall bush there is no way you can adjust the trimmer to do the job, yes you can cut the vertical surface, but you can do that faster and with less weight using a conventional hand held trimmer. To cut the top I had to get a ladder and then just hold the trimmer and sweep across the top of the bush. The on/off switch is hard to use when you need to switch hands from right to left. It appears the tool was designed by committee and with different groups want different features and you end up with an awkward tool that really doesn't satisfy the need. A conventional hedge clipper with a broom stick handle would be a far better option. Do not purchase this item, it is of poor design, ergonomically unsatisfactory and a physical challenge to use; a waste of money.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

A good hedger at a fair price.
It works well and its length allows you to get a good prospective of the bush you're trimming. It allows you to get into areas between two bushes fairly easily. Eliminating ladders is a major benefit. However, when fully extended, it is heavy and cumbersome. I think a more substantial strap or harness would be helpful and possibly a second harness attaching closer to the power head to improve balance and weight distribution..Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

THis unit is falselyu advertised
This product is falsely advertised, it claims to have a 7.9 feet pole length, but that's not true, the total;"pole" length is four feet two inches,...from the handle to the base of the cutter. it's only about half the advertised length....this unit was to replace my "two in one" hedge cutter which has the same overall length as the Sun Joe but is much more versatile....very, very disappointed with this purchase and not worth sending back.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Good but somewhat heavy

Better than the Ladder

Item too heavy.
I have not used the product as of yet, The item was much heavier than what I expected it to be. The video they have on their listing shows a woman using it which I based a lot of my decision to purchase on but the video is a little deceiving because of the weight of the item.
