Answer to all issues!
Perfect solution to all my cake storage issues. It is quite big but that's great for larger cakes and well-iced cup cakes. The inner is removable, one side for cupcake storage and the other smooth for larger cakes, so you can lift the cake out to cut or serve. Best part is that there are three levels, and you can use them individually or leave the centre part out for tall cakes. The fastening clips are quite stiff but hold well, it is good quality, solid plastic, and the box keeps cakes fresh for days. Not the cheapest but so multifunctional it is well worth it. Fantastic design - I love the flexibility it gives you over varying capacity depending on your needs (i.e. 12/24/36). I found it holds standard cupcakes securely - I haven't tried it with minis but given the depth of the holders I would think it would be fine also. In terms of height I found it fit my cupcakes which had a generous butter cream topping without difficulty. Was unsure about buying the carry case as the price looked incredibly cheap, however when the product arrived was pleasantly surprised. These often cost twice the price at leading retailers. also if you flip the plastic tray inside to show flat side up, you can actually fit 19 cupcakes (touching) per tray, that’s a total of 57.
