Cuts well, but the three section pole does not feel very robust

The saw cuts very well, and the motor/chain part feels very solid. But the pole when at full three section length feels quite bendy - it seems to flex at the joins and has a feel that it would not take much to break it at the joins. But this is trade off between weight, reach, and convenience against strength. Overall, after cutting down several high branches of 100mm diameter I feel it is good value and "does the job".

    easy and quick to assemble

it has a long reach which is good but when fully extended it feels heavy and flimsy but as long as you are careful it does a good job

  • Great garden tool.

This is a great addition to my Ryobi One+ collection. For the money it is a useful tool making light work of pruning my Magnolia tree. I have since pruned two more trees with ease. I topped up the oil reservoir with some general purpose lubricating oil I had in the garage as the little bottle provided is only enough for one filling. With the extension pole fitted it is quite heavy at the saw end but once rested on the branch to be cut helps with the cut. It's a bit tricky cutting vertical branches, especially high up, but easier once you get used to what it can do. Hardly any battery power was used. I have saved £100's on tree surgeons so a good buy. Luckily I also have a good shredder that disposed of most of the pruning (up to 45mm in dia.) otherwise it would have meant several trips to the recycling centre!

  • Brilliant tool!

This is one of the best cordless power tools ever. I had borrowed one of these from a friend a while ago and used it to lop the crown out of a cherry tree that was getting a bit too tall. It cut through the branches like a knife through butter. It was also manageable enough to be able to use it whilst standing a few feet off the ground on a ladder, which enabled me to reach high enough up the tree to cut where I wanted. I was so impressed that I was determined to buy one on Ebay as soon as one popped up at a reasonable price.

  • Impressed pole chain saw by Ryobi. OPP 1820 One 18 V.

This is a good machine, I feel that it has a few shortcomings which I knew about before purchase from various YouTube reviews. They are related to the balance of the tool when working which tends to be front heavy. The other relates to the oiling system for the chain, it requires close attention as the reservoir is somewhat small and the machine appears to leak this oil if not set down very carefully. Apart from that, it is a good machine to use perhaps a larger battery would help with the balance. Chain tension also requires close monitoring in my opinion.

  • Great product

So easy to use once you have used it a few times. Battery life is excellent. Box was a bit tatty but I bought it for the contents which were brand new. Would recommend

  • Very useful tree branch pruner.

Very handy and easy to use for cutting back tree branches. It would even cut through the thinner stems of the tree I was working on. Battery power is strong. Great value for money. Excellent product.

  • perfect saw, very sharp, very powerfull for the size, great value just use a 4-5 m amp battery.

Pretty dam good for the money, dose what it says, drinks oil for the chain but this is a must to protect it and keep it sharp, eats throug tree trunks and thick branches no problem, very sharp and effective.
