JVC - sort of...
OK first thing... This TV is not built by the Japanese JVC that we know. It's actually made by a Turkish company called Vestel that manufacture the budget range TVs under some of the bigger brand names (Toshiba, JVC, Sharp and Panasonic to mame a few). This JVC is one of the cheapest 4k screens to buy so I wasn't expecting much to be honest. It was bought as a quick replacement after my daughter decided to break my old reliable (and genuine) Panasonic 1080p TV. Pros: * Good overall sound quality * Freeview HD * Built-in apps including Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube and catch up TV channels... And they all work fine. * Good for console gaming with no noticeable input lag or motion blur. Decent picture when used with my PS4 Pro. * Remote is relatively easy to use. Cons: * Cheap and flimsy build quality... Not like a true JVC product. * Menu navigation is a bit laggy and app load times a re a tad slow. * HDR is never that great on a budget TV as they can't reach the required brightness for it to be a true or noteworthy feature. It can actually end up looking worse with it enabled. * Poor viewing angles. You need to be sat directly in front of the TV for the best experience. Moving to the side causes colours to become washed out. It's an OK TV for the price and seems fine for console gaming, but if you want wider viewing angles and HDR that actually works then you'll need to spend a bit more. I'll be going with either LG, Sony or Samsung for my next TV as they don't use third party companies (like Vestel) to build their cheaper TVs.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
