Solid AV Receiver from a brand I'm comfortable with.
The RX-A2080 replaces and older Yamaha AV receiver on which the tuner section failed after ~16 years of use. We use the tuner all the time so needed that feature and the 2080 brought us more up to date on all the new features introduced since 2009. Glad that it still works with the Yamaha Control App since we are familiar with it. Good features, plenty of inputs. The newest Yamaha AV receivers have way fewer old style inputs so wouldn't work for our needs. They basically assume you will just be streaming or using HDMI inputs. Very expensive but has everything you could ever need do!
Sounds great will do anything you want it to do. Just one problem the unit started out switching normally from cable/satellite tv to streaming services flawlessly. Then suddenly it stopped doing this. Was perplexing . Found out you need to buy a digital coaxial cable you connect from your TV to the back of the unit. Now works perfectly. Quality product great sound !
I was looking for a new receiver after my Marantz went down and have owned Yamaha products before with great success and was confident with the purchase of another. I have only had it in service for a couple of weeks but so far it is functioning great I haven't gotten to deep on all it can do but I am certain it will excel at that as well.
