Bauhaus 'objet'; controls are too complicated
It seems to be a good quality radiator, but I think that's because of certain things that have been designed-in, e.g. the choice of paint finish, bulky metal structural parts, etc. I don't know if it really is a good quality radiator because I haven't owned it for long enough. I have a major gripe with it. That is, the timer function is also designed for ergonomics and appearance rather than functionality. It's far too complicated. There's a wheel with lots of obscure and confusing markings, it has a wheel within it, and it clicks within clicks. This is too complicated to use in the way they claim (they say it can be made to turn on and off at specific times). It should have been a normal digital LED display rather than this Grand Complication, where setting the timer resembles breaking into a safe or bank vault. Designed for appearance's sake (form over function), needlessly heavy to convey the impression of quality, playing up to a silly stereotype of a vaguely German brand name, controls are too complex. Not Worth The Extra Money
I ordered 2 of these heaters for quite a large space as they said they were 2500w and seemed pretty powerful. They don't really kick out that much heat in comparison to weaker radiators that I have since seen for cheaper. Maybe it's more economical but pretty useless if it's not reaching a decent temperature in the space. They turn themselves on and off again when they reach a certain temperature but I would like to be able to set that temperature higher. Amazing and very useful
Excellent, very useful, room stays heated for long even after switching it off. The fact that it automatically switches off is really useful because it avoids over heating. Haven't used the 24hour timer yet but I'm sure it will be useful too. Works like a central heating Can't think of any negative points. Easy to set up too. Ideal for small to medium sized rooms. Not for bedroom. Noisy and constantly switches off.
We had the arrival of our baby and i bought this to heat the bedroom during the night. The thermostat kicks in (even set at max) very shortly after turning on, so it switches off again and it makes noisy clicking which wakes me up. This on off continues for the hour during the night with associated clicking. Too expensive to post back, so use it before going to bed. Awesome for heating my freezing bathroom
Absolutely fantastic heater. I really struggled getting motivated for my morning shower, last winter. Stepping out of a hot shower into my ice-box bathroom was absolute hell. It was so uncomfortable. Not anymore!!!!! This heater turns my bathroom into a boiling hotbox within approximately 5 minutes. I simply unplug it, and leave it in situ as it continues to keep the room warm during my shower. Because the fins are oil filled, they stay hot well after you've turned the heater off. I went back into my bathroom an hour after my shower, and upon opening the door, a wave of warm air hit my face. I couldn't believe it. The room was still toasty warm. Love it.
