The lock must be mounted with the cam holes in the bar facing downward to avoid water ingress. The lock body should be no less than 5mm from the edges of the gate and obviously, the throw of the lock needs to reach across to secure the gate.

    i have a solid wood gate (not your average wood gate), this lock is heavy duty, feels solid and very easy to install. comes with 5 keys, great for families. i just hope it last longer than other locks i have had.

    Better than most

    Overall it is pretty good. Would like more robust protection of the lock on the "inside" aspect, such that when used on gate if thats climbed over and the lock attacked, how robust is it? Could be better I suspect. But 3.5 stars if that was an option.

    Good strong lock and easy to fit.

    Great lock, with long throw shaft, and it's a solid shaft,, ,you can use it left or right side of your door or gate, i personally bought this for my new shed, the tongue and groove is 20mm thick, so what I did was add a 50mm piece of wood on the inside so that the overall thickness of the door was 70mm, you need to secure the 50mm piece of timber, and then cut a nogging in to the frame allowing the bar to slide across to lock, really good strong lock, I really like it .

    Best garden gate lock there is!

    Definitely fit for purpose! Very well made - feels like a heavy duty construction with quality materials being used. Also loved the fact the supplier exceeded my expectation on delivery times. This product was also cheapest out of all suppliers offering the same lock (Gatemate). I can see this lock working wel for the next 15 years in the outside.

    Chinese Door lock endorsement

    I have read other adverts indicating products made in Spain are better than the Chinese identical version. I am an engineer by trade and I have inspected thoroughly this Chinese Gate/Side door lock and find it to be top quality and 'second to none' for design, material and written fixing instruction. I fail to see how a Spanish product of equal manufacture and component quality would better this one. I am very happy with my purchase and I fully endorse this product.

    Excellent Lock

    So much better than the cheap locks supplied with new sheds, worth spending a bit of time strengthening the mounting points up! Comes with 5 keys and you will need a 26mm hole cutter. Instructions are non picture but it's every obvious what you need to do. Took 30 minutes to install including strengthening the mounting point.

    Garden gate locks

    The only thing wrong is they do not fit my gate, I got the wrong style and as I did not get help putting them on, as I had to go into Hospital. I have waisted my money I think it would be too late to return them. The actual locks are very good quality, and worth every penny I paid them but no good for my gate. It was my fault and I should have just got a small Yale look, but these locks I would recommend to friends and family if they asked me as they are good quality for money.
