Brand new, machine is great
I was worried this would not be brand new - but it is! Works perfectly and came with all the features described. To review the sewing machine itself, I've sewed both stretchy knit fabrics and thick multi-layered cotton fabrics, and they have all turned out well. There are 27 stitches to choose from, and for each you can adjust the stitch length and width. To be honest I think it's a waste of money to get the version of this machine that has 50+ stitches for an extra $100, since you really only need a handful for all types of sewing. It's MUCH quieter than I expected. It's a bit hard to control the speed if you want to go really slow, but I with practice it's not an issue.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Thought it was easier to use but it is complicated
I was very happy when I bought this Being that I have never saw one before and I wanted to make facemasks. However I am still learning how to operate the threading and tension, even though I have studied the instructions many times. If you are a beginner sore. I would recommend getting something with less maintenance. They don’t really explain much about the threading and tension except HOW to thread the needle. Lightweight, easy portable. Easy to understand features.
Just recently received the machine for my granddaughter. This is her first machine but it was easy for her to understand the various features. Since she is just beginning, I will return for an update in the future. Better than an industrial machine.
Does everything I need it to. I recently bought an industrial singer machine and it couldn’t get through 4 layers or thin cotton fabric. Returned that and bought this for half the price and it works beautifully! Much better than the industrial machine. Good quality. Good value for the price
I bought this sewing machine when my Singer of over 40 years old broke while making masks. It arrived sooner than promised. It was easy to learn to use and has many more features I have not yet tried, but is doing very well with the mask making. It is a good value for the price.

It’s an award winner for a reason!
My first Brother brand sewing machine, and so far so good! Everything is very clearly explained in the directions, and there are many good videos on how to use it on YouTube. I’m grateful for a solid traditional model with no digital interface, since I know it’s knobs will last forever. It’s like an updated version of the ancient Viking brand sewing machine I learned on, which was my grandmother’s when she was my age! This Brother machine is a great machine with a lot of features for the price! Hate to sew but love this machine
I’ve sewn more the past few months making face masks. When my 25 yr old Kenmore was having problems too often to not replace it, I researched quality, reviews, and price and bought this Brother. It arrived unscathed and documentation is good. I didn’t view the dvd because I don’t have a DVD player, but I didn’t need the dvd cuz the one directions are very thorough. Am I ever delighted that I chose this machine. It’s so smooth, quiet,and easy to thread both top and bobbin that I ALMOST enjoy sewing. I would buy this machine again and have recommended it to several friends who are also having problems with their old machines. Awesome produce, arrived earlier than expected in absolutely great shape. Only suggestion is to post the dvd online for those of us who don’t have computers with dvd readers. Perhaps it is already online and I somehow missed it in my exuberance to start using the machine. GREAT product, unbeatable price, excellent quality. Plastic housing but cannot see that to be any problem. It makes the machine lighter than my old metal machine. And it’s still heavy enough to not walk around when I’m using it on my tabletop.
