    Strong and sturdy, use with confidence

    I had to cut a small amount off the key both sides to allow the key to fit the slot. It worked very well and got the cover up after being in place for 28 years. Very happy with the product

    Industrial not domestic

    These keys are very sturdy and good value but they are too large for typical domestic inspection chamber covers (the galvanised, pressed steel type). The keys can be used with domestic covers by wedging one side of the lug into the hole in the cover but the lug itself is too long and wide to fit securely into the hole.

    Manhole cover keys

    Extremely heavy duty, purchased as I have several old concrete heavy duty and very heavy covers. Thought they had large holes as normal keys no good. These key lifters are great and quite comfortable to grip. Did have to take 2mm off bottom edge and 1mm of both side edges so they would fit. Blades very large.

    Well made, heavy duty. Some angle grinding required, but all good.

    Well made heavy duty manhole keys. Had to reduce the size of the key ends and remove excess solder to fit the manhole key holes with an angle grinder. All good now.

    The key to disappointment

    Unfortunately, the keys did not fit the slots in the manhole cover. I had to hacksaw approx. 3mm off each end for it to fit. Also the welds have a very large radius fillet where they join the shaft. It all looks very nice in shiny chrome steel, but I do not think they are fit for purpose.

    I was not expecting too much quality from this product in view of the price, How wrong was I. They are very well made from good quality materials, they are a treat to use and small enough to store easily. At double the price they would still be a bargain and I would strongly recommend this item to anyone who needs to lift manhole covers.

    Had to cut to size

    Do the job but had to cut to correct size for my covers using an angle grinder, dont expect them to fit straight out the packet. But can't argue over the price would have cost more to make them from scratch.

    Good strong study tool, but doesn't fit the manhole cover

    This is a good strong study tool, but it doesn't fit the manhole cover. The T section part is a little too big to fit into my covers. My house was built in the 1970's with many concrete covers around the property, and these lifter tools unfortunately do not fit these. Check the exact sizes of the holes in your covers before purchase.

    I bought standard manhole lifting keys problems listed below. 1-end lifting section too long 2-welded on by blind man as not in centre and also off centre 3-welds too big not very well finished would have sent back but would have been throwing good money after bad.

    Didn't fit my drain covers

    The bottom part of the key was too big to fit in the drain cover lifting holes. Had to use a grinder to reduce the size of the key to fit. They are good quality
