Easy to use & Good value

I have no idea how this would stand up to office use, we use it at home because it's as easy to type things up & print it off as it is to write & more convenient . My previous printer was 20 years old so the difference is seriously noticeable. The Cannon is fairly compact neat & looks really good it has been easy to set up & the quality of the printing is excellent & I rather like the ability for duplex printing. It will remain to be seen how long the ink cartridges last 5 seemed rather a lot & I was not sure how practical they were but they are so much cheaper than the ones I was using that I am fairly sure it will be more economical in the long run. I suppose it depends on if you want it to have lots of bells & whistles for me this is a good easy to use printer value for money & has does everything I have asked of it.

    A nightmare to set up

This machine is a big lump of a thing and heavy, be careful unpacking it. The basic setup sheets are confusing and quite a few of the figures and words don’t make sense. If it did actually work the way the sheets indicate, it would be much easier. Getting it to connect to my network was a real pain. It took a lot of faffing about to get the printer “found”. I gave up with the default method and got it going by pressing the button on the side of the router. Once that was done, it was pretty easy to connect to phones and tablets although, once again, the instruction sheets and what I needed to do didn’t match. Connecting laptops was also easy enough once you had download the software and installed it. Not sure I like the giant L-shaped menu that appears bottom right of the desktop. Easy enough to close it though. I like that when you click in the ink cartridges you get a light in front of each one. I would suggest that Canon change this light from red to green. I thought that a red light meant that I had not got them seated correctly. Haven’t used the scanner yet but have printed a few documents and the quality is excellent. Have copied a couple of forms containing colour using the home screen on the printer. One very good but the one with purple was not so faithful to the original. Now that it’s all set up, I’m pleased with it so far. If it lasts as long as my Epson RX640 I will be happy. The Epson is still going strong btw it’s just not WiFi enabled. I keep it because of the 35mm slides/negative carrier in the scanner lid. Why does nobody provide these in an all-in-one any more?

  • Good value but with possible teething problems

Delivered very quickly, even before the due date, and was fairly easy to set up. The biggest problem so far is that the printer seems to enter sleep mode very easily but is reluctant to wake up, has to be manually switched on each time, don't know if this is normal or an be adjusted in the settings. Have not tried the duplex printing yet so unable to report on that. One of the reasons for buying this printer was that the ink cartridges are all separate which means they can be replaced individually, also they are available from alternative suppliers.

  • Canon Pixma MG5750

A good printer for the price considering the ability to print from different devises using Wifi that other printers are not able to do with such ease. Print quality for normal, colour and photo print is very good and you don't need to change cartridges unlike other printers. Haven't had it long enough to determine how long ink cartridges last, but replacements are easily obtained from various outlets and are reasonably priced. The only criticism I have is that sometimes you have to reset the print tray for printer to pick up paper. This being the only reason 5 stars were not awarded.

  • Uptodate printer!

I hadn't realised my previous 8 year old printer was so behind the times as this one has a lot of additional features. However I have to remind myself to turn it ON when I want to print anything! But of course that is a good feature that will save my power costs. All in all I am very pleased with it and found it easy to get used to and there was even an instruction sheet!! Well done Canon!

  • Useful printer

A nice printer/scanner for the price. The print quality is very good and it handles graphics well with good colour rendition. The ink cartridges are separate CMYK plus an additional black for text so it is quite economical. It can be a little noisy when starting and shutting down and shuffles the print head back and forth but there is a quiet mode for scanning and printing. As is normal it operates as a copier, printing straight from the scanner The paper input tray can be folded up or left extended depending upon space available so reducing its footprint but this means that a stock of paper cannot be kept in the printer. Printing wirelessly is very useful and can be done from a mobile 'phone or tablet via a Canon app My first printer wouldn't feed the paper in but its replacement works fine.

  • OK BUT!!

When I set up my Pixma 5750, I immediately hit a problem as the enclosed set up disc was only for Windows OS and my computer is an IMac. I am not a computer whizkid so when I found various setup programmes online, after a couple of hours managed to get the printer to print. but not scan. Another hour later I did find a programme that got the scanner to work but the results were a bit erratic so I'm going to have spend even more time getting it to work properly. Just wish the disc covered MAC computers!

  • Good working printer

Printer arrive on time, and was easy to set up. However connecting the printer to computer wirelessly was very finicky and took some time and restarts. It is now working well and prints from computer and copies well - colours are good . As good as my Lexmark it replaces with cheaper inks thanks to Lexmark inhibiting the use of compatible inks.

  • lightweight with great features

This is a replacement of my previous model, and the clearness of the printed matter is excellent. The model is easy to set up. With this model the plain paper shelf does't go right into the printer unlike my previous model. Although this doesn't affect the performance of the printer it means that the paper is always outside the printer and dust can form.

  • Good but no cigar

This printer is easy to set up and produces good prints. However, it had several annoying habits. It can not be left switched on and then proceeds to noisely clean the print heads when turned on again. This is a waste of ink and unnecessary. It also frequently asks the user to confirm what size paper is in the tray again unnecessary. My previous Canon printer did not have either of these "features" and was quieter, and cheaper to run. ln short this does the shop but in my opinion could be better.
