Breville's Full Size Toaster Oven Sets The Standard
Breville's older model, the BOV800XL seems to have been discontinued, but a newer model the 845 XL is available with an interior light. I have used this model for well over 5 years without any problems or reduction in efficiency. This appliance is much more than a toaster oven, although it does an incredible job of simply toasting bread. What makes Breville's oven superlative is its many different choice of modes, which employ combinations of heating elements and a convection feature, which allow it to perform nearly any cooking functions one could imagine. Bottom Line-don't focus on the higher price point-think about a really outstanding toaster oven would allow your family to do every day for many many years. Breville is the smart choice in toaster ovens, and in my opinion, many other electric appliances.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Flawed
The PCB on these isn’t properly insulated. It gets too hot and breaks down; the buttons start controlling each other’s functions, and the display burns out. The buttons are incredibly cheap tactile switches, the type you would find in a dollar store toy. The thermofuse is rated incorrectly, which causes it to blow under normal conditions. The repair is tedious and most people aren’t prepared to completely dismantle the oven to replace it. The build quality of these is very average - not any better than a Walmart black and decker. What you’re paying $250 more for is the electronics. But seeing how the poor design destroys them, it’s hard to justify the expense. Breville won’t acknowledge any of this. Instead you are given the option to pay a $125 service fee on top of shipping, with no guarantees it won’t break again.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

What a pleasant surprise... this is more than just a toaster oven! We've found it useful for heating up leftovers and casseroles, baking, but also does a nice job with pizzas, and makes the best toast! Every time a perfect piece of toast comes out, we ask "how does it know?" Does it all
This is my 3rd Breville oven. You hardly need a traditional oven if you have a Breville. You can cook and bake anything. It browns chicken so well with convection setting. All of my family and extended family now own a Breville too!
