Not a straightforward installation.
I had real problems fitting these lamps. Firstly, the base plate is plastic and the securing fittings for the lamp to the base plate are metal bolts. The head of which fit into recesses in the base plate. The connection box is very tight and with mains cabling I simply could not fit the lamp onto the base plate. I ended up splitting the cable connector to enable this to happen. However, on the first lamp, as I tried to tighten the nut onto the bolt the plastic base broke away with the bolt. This left me finding a way to improvise to fit the lamp to the wall. All in all, it took me several hours to fit these lamps where it should have been done quickly and without problem. I have fitted external lamps many time before and have never had the problems I had with these. I cannot understand why anyone would design a fitting where a metal bolt is recessed into a light plastic plate. Really disappointed as I doubt that the lamps will survive many changes of bulbs.
