  • Switched to Mirrorless

I had a Canon 35mm camera in the misty past and a Canon DSLR for years. Decided to switch and have not regretted it for a moment. The camera is smaller and lighter making it easier to carry all day; battery life is comparable (2 batteries for a day's video recording); images and video are fantastic and controls are brilliantly lakes out. For this camera you even get great image stabilisation, some professional functionality and a weather sealed body and lens. Awesome! It will eventually become by b-roll camera when I buy the GH5 so footage will match.

  • Still Great Value With Potential

Although this camera was originally launched in late 2016, is Micro Four Thirds with a 16mpx sensor, it does shoot 4k video, is weather sealed but don't drop it in a lake, you'll be pushing your luck. It is very lightweight and easy to carry with you, has image stabilisation which is a pretty reasonable specification. If you are looking for a relatively cheap entry point for experimenting with making 4k videos plus a decent stills camera capability, this is a very good place to start from. Obviously if you have a fatter wallet, there are plenty of other choices but you won't go far wrong with this one.

  • Best affordable micro4/3rds

Nice wee camera, does everything well. Small and discreet but beautifully made, quiet shutter or silent if using fully electronic, the sensor stabilization works extremely well and the image quality is superb. I have full frame, aps-c and 4/3rds cameras and they all offer good and bad points but micro 4/3rds is certainly not a poor relation to other formats. Haven't used the video mode yet but it is reputed to be very good 4k and hd footage.

  • Best camera you can get under £500

It films with almost the same quality as a GH5, same stabilisation, smaller and lighter, and also under half the price of a GH5, I bought a DJI 15mm f1/7 lens from CEX for £200 and the quality is amazing.
