They work as expected. A bit hard to ignite (especially in windy conditions) but otherwise pretty good for starting fire. The package is actually pretty small as well as the tablets themselves (diameter is close to the one of a quarter). They burn clean and hot. But to really use them for cooking you would waste them. The main purpose is to start fire or do some small experiments. In reality, be careful with the price. I actually found them at a store at the same price. But w/o a risk of being disappointed. Dirty fuel
I have done a side by side comparison with Esbit, and this stuff is not nearly as pure. It leaves a big lump of crud when finished burning. The Esbit leaves only about 3% of it's initial volume. Esbit is more money, so you get what you pay for. These tabs burn well and "work", but you have to clean toe "stove" after use.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Big performance in a compact package
I purchased these tablets for my boyfriend, he has a pocket stove for camping and survival. The tablets ignite quickly and burn evenly. Stinky, but it works.

Reliable solid fuel

Better then lighter fluid

These fuel tabs are in current new condition, burn hot and fairly easy to lite. If you have an es bit style stove, which I recommend for any outdoor enthusiast, these work perfectly. These tabs are slightly thicker than what came with my stove originally so they burn longer. I use mine to heat a can of soup, water or make a cup of coffee in the morning. By no means piece of mind BUT
I am a hardcore survivalist, some things I carry I can do without Oz make Lbs but sometimes it’s the little things that can take frustrations that you will definitely face when in a survival situation a little easier. I see this kit as one of those of those small items. Will you always have it when you need it NO could something happen to cause it not to work absolutely. But even a few items that can give you hope even if not working properly can with the practiced skill set help you to keep the right mind set in moving forward. I used to use these when I was in the Army in the late 80s to mid 90s. The canteen cup and cup stove is the most compact way to go. I buy these heat tabs 48 at a time. They always work, and I've never had a problem with them.
