    Impressed

My previous water dispenser is one that you have to stop the water with...and this would cause issues, mostly with overflowing drinks due to distractions! Too many times I'd get distracted by my toddler and have hot water everywhere. This machine right here, removes that risk and I love it for that!! To know that I can just leave it to run if I wish, is excellent! Love the stop button as well, mostly for making gravy, as I wouldn't need 250mls for that. It makes drinks faster than my other too, mostly as the water shoots out faster! The only thing I cant figure out, is how the tray adjusts? Which would be useful with certain cups. Due to this, it lost a star. Other than this downside, i totally recommend this machine!

    Missing vital features

Having used this product for two years plus I'm a bit of an expert.. OK less about my big head. Its well made with thick quality plastic and quality parts throughout. All the Brevelle gear is and to bolster this thinking I have a well used kettle over 20 years old and it's electric.. The thing is a bit noisy but it's powerful and does everything quickly. A bit faster than a good kettle. You can stop the water mid flow if needed (don't forget the cup) I have and its messy and could be dangerous.. Probably not good for the absent minded with small children.. My two main gripes are no temprature controll.. It gets hot and brews perfect tea don't worry on that but sometimes I like green tea and need 80 degrees.. The biggest thing for me is the half a cup just over it gives. If your not into milky drinks you will indeed need a small ladder to reach your drink. If like me you used your kettle for cooking pan filling then this will just annoy the crap out of you keep cycling the machine over and over.. I still have a kettle for that.. So it does not replace a kettle for me at least.. Water capacity is good and very easy to fill up from a jug.. No mains connection is possible for water supply. So to sum up sturdy and of good quality but with some design flaws.. Please put a dispensing adjustment on the next model...

  • Breville Hot Cup

Purchased this on the 25th June 2019 as I am unable to lift a kettle. It boils really quickly, it's much quieter than my last one and you can stop the flow if using a smaller cup. So yes, I was over the moon with my purchase. However, a few days ago my Hot Cup started making a weird noise and was only dispensing half of the normal boiled water. So I've contacted Currys via eBay messaging to report the problem as it's covered by a 12 month warranty ................now waiting for a reply. I would buy another as it's perfect for me.

  • Great Buy

Love this item . No lifting of hot kettles - just tea bag or coffee in cup pop on tray under spout, press button and go get your biscuit and hey presto your cup of tea or coffee is ready. Very easy to fill from a jug (holds about 2 depending on size of jug of course) and can see easily from front when it is full. Would recommend without hesitation. A.L.

  • Neat modern design, boils really quickly! Makes 5 mugs of Coffee before I need to refill the Water Chamber

It is much quieter than my last Breville Model. I also like the fact you can raise or lower the cup stand depending on size of the Mug...it stops water splashing everywhere. Nice neat design does not take up much space on the Counter top! Highly recommended

  • Compact, Fast, and Ideal

Thrilled with this purchase I bought this to replace a different brand that had gone to leaking occasionally. When this one arrived, my first reaction was: it is small. And, yes, it is smaller than the previous unit and needs filling a bit more often, BUT it takes up a lot less counter space. Plus, it spits out exactly the right amount of water for tea as I like it. The auto-off feature is a godsend as, with the old one, I more than a few times managed to flood the kitchen counter because it didn't have an auto-off feature and I was distracted by who-knows-what. And it fills the cup faster than the previous one. Definitely lucky to find this one. 100%

  • Convenient and practical

It looks better than others in the range. Good for one cup tea/coffee. Had expected amount dispensed could be adjusted as I think you can on one of lower models but on this one you need to stand over it and press stop if you need less (eg for Rombout one cup filters). So unless you want a mug full, you cannot walk away or it will overflow. Other than that it’s great - quick to deliver boiling water and unlike one I bought years ago, water tastes normal.

  • Good but not great.

It's a good product and makes me a cuppa in 40 seconds saving on electricity. On the down side the water isn't quite boiling, although it's generally hot enough. There is also no way to vary the quantity of water dispensed, other than to stop it mid flow if you can get the timing just right. I have what I consider to be a normal sized mug. Left alone it fills this to the rim so that you can't move it. I am also concerned that the unused hot water gets returned to the tank where it could sit for a long time, is this healthy?

  • Another way to make a cup of tea

It boils quickly a cup of water so would benefit from a mug setting. There is no difficulty in topping up to mug quantity but this must be by manual switch off so could be a hazard. The question on grip does not apply. Is it good value? It is certainly very economic to run. You boil the quantity of water you require.

  • A quick cuppa!

This boils water quickly but after one you have to wait before it will dispense another It is not as good as my old one that had a fixed place for your cup as this one tends to move. My old one also had a handle so if you didn't want to fill it with a jug you could fill it under the tap like an ordinary kettle. Having said this I think it's still good value for money and time will tell if the built in water filter works!
