My favourite Madame Butterfly
This version of my favourite opera is so much more realistic ! Instead of an often overweight and middle aged prima donna, we have an enchanting Chinese young lady taking the lead role, with a beautiful voice, who I could believe to be a young bride. This film version of Madam Butterfly is far better than any stage production. The voices may not be the greatest but the actors fit the roles.
It's not actually "better than expected" but it is better than "OK". I use to have this version of the opera on VHS unil the tape was spoilt. I liked the film version so much that I ordered the DVD from you.
