Gormenghast
Not as good the books , but few screen versions rarely are , and like Lord Of The Rings it was always going to take something special to to tranlate from books to screen. I always wanted to see the books come to life and Gormenghast did just that . With a sterling cast , great sets ,and a young Jonathan Rhys Meyers as the scheming Steerpike it hit most of the right notes ,if not entirely getting Mervyn Peake's vision of the sprawling crumbling castle that is Gormenghast.
