important theme - worth watching - not a classic
The film raises important themes about how readily we men belittle women in so many ways - even if not many of us go to these extremes. I quickly bought & read the novel it was based on. I wonder if the film would have worked better if the lead characters had been more ordinary - as in the novel, instead of living such glossy lives.
