I used to have similar visions, when she meets her 'father' on the beach.
I love this film, because years ago, I used to have very similar visions, when Jodie Foster meets her 'father' on the beach. In my case, I met my deceased mother, and she gave me a hug, which was full of unconditional love, literally a feeling outside of this world, which I will never forget, and a feeling I have never had in this world. Sometimes, I was walking on similar magical beaches, or flying over such beaches, full of beautiful fish.
