Product Information
The culmination of Leone's renowned Dollars series of spaghetti westerns that includes A FISTFUL OF DOLLARS (1964) and FOR A FEW DOLLARS MORE (1965). Set during the Civil War, this wagonload of grit carries three desperados whose squinting eyes are fixed on a Confederate treasure. While dodging authorities, the Good (Eastwood) the Bad (Van Kleef) and the Ugly (Wallach) keep busy by stabbing each other firmly in the back hoping to beat the others to the gold. The climax comes with the gripping stand-off at the cemetery. Classic film from the 1960s
A film from my childhood. A timeless classic. Three characters who intertwine with each other and all after hidden gold. The musical score is wonderful and fits the action brilliantly. Possibly one of the best westerns ever produced and the father of all spaghetti westerns. A must watch film but be prepared for the length of time. Sandwiches and a flask of tea or coffee helps. Eminently watchable - should be on your 'top ten' list
This is one of the all-time greats; don't be put off if you're not a fan of westerns. The three main characters are excellently portrayed, with a healthy dose of Italian wit to balance the serious backdrop of the American civil war. While the film is long, the storyline develops and entertains throughout, accompanied by Ennio Morricone's seminal soundtrack.
