    A great movie

I found this movie to be a moving drama of the war years, which reminded me of evacuation of children from cities which were being bombed to locations where they would be safe. I wasn’t involved as I lived in the North East, It involved an elderly man, a widower who at first didn’t wish to be involved, but who grew to love the boy who he accommodated. I love happy endings

Great title promising a happy ending

This film has the feel good factor and is totally absorbing. It portrays the difficulties of both the evacuated children and the communities expected to take on the care of these children. John Thaw is superb in this role.

  • A great film to share and enjoy

Good quality product that arrived promptly and was well packed. We really enjoyed watching this film. Have read the story many times and recently shared the book with my 9 year old and I wanted him to see the film too. He was not disappointed. The film is historically correct, light hearted and sombre moments too. This dvd will be watched many times.

  • Goodnight Mr Tom

The film is set in the early years of the 2nd World War, and is full of charm, nostalgia and a heart warming throw back to the days before mobile phones, satellite TV and countless other forms of media and communication. If you have not seen it before it is a must see film, if you have seen the film before then sit back and reminisce about times gone by, it is a gem. Excellent value for money.

  • Classic Film

Great feel good film, about a boy evacuated to the country during World War 2. No swearing, great for all the family. A pleasing addition to my DVD collection, one of John Thaw's best in my opinion.

  • Even if you have seen this film before or not you will really enjoy it

Nowadays there are not many really good films where the story and characters keep you engrossed like “Goodnight mister Tom” My wife and I have watched the DVD a couple of times and have thoroughly enjoyed it . The story mixes sadness and heartwarming happiness in equal measure and is a believable story of the time during the war when this could have happened .

  • John Thaw at his very best

A great film and performance by John Thaw. What a heart griping story of a young refugee sent to the country out of London. Mr Tom (John Thaw) takes the boy in and the heart griping story unfolds. A must watch, but keep the tissues handy.
