When he abandons her at an Oklahoma Wal-Mart, Novalee has no choice but to stay behind. She lives in the Wal-Mart until the baby comes, and the resulting birth turns her into a celebrity. As the years go by, Novalee continues to live in the small town, and eventually finds herself falling in love with the kindhearted local librarian.

The bad times taught the caracters to appreciate more their blessings.
It has very talented actors and a great plot (or several plots in one movie). It brings to light lots of problems women have to deal with in their lifetime. It also addresses the benefits and gains of life. The bad times taught the caracters to appreciate more their blessings. Wonderful movie!

My favorite
This movie and book have been my favorite since 2000. A wonderful story. I just wish the producers for the movie stayed closer to the actual book but regardless it is a very good story.

Movie detective, can't watch, keeps getting stuck in scenes.
Just tried to watch it. Stopped at least 8 times during the movie. Must have a large scratch, or is defective. Was shipped in insulated package & wrapped sufficiently. Must have been bad, before shipped.
