One of our favorite movies
One of our family's favorite movies about a young chess genius whose dad wavers between helping his young son develop his gift and pushing him beyond his limits. The casting was perfect, but I especially liked Joan Allen as the mom, who tolerantly sat back and allowed others to steer her son until they pushed too hard. Then she turned into a mama-bear and resolutely protected her child. Add Ben Kingsley and Laurence Fishburne, and how can you go wrong?
