One of the great war films
A war film that will appeal to those who prefer a story solely concerned with war and no 'side' stories about wives and girlfriends etc. Great acting and amazing photography on a mountain, given the limited climbing equipment in the 1950's. Yes understood the brigde was based on a true special forces that was the first precursor to such specialist missions
Really enjoyed it, no women actors really but it had a good theme and William Holden was good and so was his narration in it. There really was a Devil's Brigade and I think the members of it would be vastly disappointed with this film supposedly based on their exploits
