Reviews4.5 stars out of 5 -- "It's an absolute classic -- it has the bleak majesty of latter-day Dylan albums like MODERN TIMES and TEMPEST, yet it goes beyond them, tapping even deeper into cosmic American mysteries.", "A record of savage wisdom, dark mystery, and endless suggestion, a 70 minute journey through cut-throat rhythm and blues that infuriates and inspires, forever refusing to be hemmed back or pinned down.", "A clear reflection of America’s jagged landscape -- one of romance and mystery, creativity and fortune, protestations and politicking, conquests and colonialism. It makes for an exquisite, haunting listen.", 5 stars out of 5 -- "Set to a warm, languorous haze of acoustic, slide guitar and cello, ‘I Contain Multitudes’ is as full and rounded a self-portrait as you could hope for from one of music’s most shrouded and enigmatic legends.", "A Ferocious, Urgent, Marauding Album That Felt Almost Supernaturally Relevant to the Present."

    Dylan never better!

If you like Dylan you will love this. I have it on repeat in the car and find his song writing as provocative, poetic and dynamic as ever. If his voice is very gravelly it does not detract from his delivery of these sometimes wry, sometimes forthright and incisive, and sometimes poignant songs. A must!

  • Most critical review

    For the die-hard fan.

Disc one is OK but poor old Bob is starting to labour somewhat. Disk 2 although a genuine attempt to relate to the assassination of JFK is laboured and quite boring. The sleeve of the copy that I received was tired looking and both discs needed a good clean. Having said that I purchased this album out of curiosity and to complement my collection of Dylan's work. I would recommend this album for those dedicated Dylan fans.

  • He’s a Genius!

I’ve grown up listening to Dylan, he was just getting going when I was in my teens. I like his work, the lyrics, the music. I can relate to a lot of the stuff he’s produced over the years, and the changes he’s made in his life.

  • Excellent album

This feels like a return for Dylan. Fascinating lyrics, laid back and easy. A double cd with the second one being a long single track on the assassination of JFK. My only disappointment is the spare card cover which is easy to tear getting the cds out..I did that 😓. And very little information. Benmont Tench lll formerly of the Heartbreakers is one of the band.

  • Great Album.

Scintillating stuff, gets going around track three, Dylan still has something to say about the need for Old Time Religion in Covid days.

  • Back to his best

with a completely new style - more a recital than any attempt at song. Great

  • Great title

Excellent CD probably one of the very best he has ever made.

  • Reflective and hauntingly epic.

This is by far Dylan's best for two decades. Haunting and laden with wistfully. Stand out tracks are crossing the Rubicon and key West. This is worth the wait. Really recommend.
