Chernobyl - The Real Truth
The movie depicts just what happened, how it happened, what sacrifices were made and the cover ups among high officials to follow this terrible disaster. I remember our news reporting the Chernobyl disaster back then but I didn't understand the magnitude. I guess that is why I have a lot of interest today. A terrible, excellent story
This program tells a very bleak, stark (and at times wrenching) story of the nuclear disaster which befell the Soviet Union in April, 1986. Despite certain fictional elements inserted for brevity, the story accurately and realistically depicts the overall circumstances before, during and after the Chernobyl explosion, from the monstrous accumulation of human error which was the cause, to the tragic, heroic stories of the valiant individuals who fought the disaster only to fall victim to its effects. What a fascinating and dramatic account of this historical event in human history! The drama is visceral, depraved, and down right depressing at times.
