Dark shadows- early television like you have never seen before !
This is a story of Collinwood in the state of Maine. It was a soap opera that started in 1966. Only this soap opera is about the hauntings, witches, vampires, and even a werewolf in the Collins family. As a kid , I would race home from school to watch it. I was fascinated with such a show that would appeal to many different ages. As i grew a little older I began to miss episodes with other activities. Recently my interest came back to Dark Shadows. So, I bought this set. Which contains every episode. 1245 in all. Contained in 131 dvd discs. Created by Dan Curtis. Who brought us other shows such as Kolchak the night stalker. So, I would recommend this set from the early days of television. Unlike any television show you'll likely to see again. The characters are interesting and ever changing as the story unfolds. The central character is Barnabas Collins. A vampire. Played by Johnathan Frid. A fan favorite. So, if this has peaked your interest. Check it out. I doubt you will be disappointed.

Sink Your Teeth Into The Original American Gothic Vampire Series, Leave Satisfied!
After spending the last seven months watching the classic B&W/Color American Gothic Horror Soap Opera "Dark Shadows," I just had to own it! I thought, my first time watching the series, I'd be done and move on, but I'm hooked! I love the original "Dark Shadows," and purchasing this collection that comes in a large coffin box (large enough to accommodate all 131 disks) was satisfying. I look forward to working my way through this collection, with all the extras, but I suspect that will take me at least another year! I'm not a soap opera person, but "Dark Shadows" is supernatural, (Spoilers) from witches and ghosts to vampires and werewolves, and so much more, there's time travel and even alternate time-lines--it's a lot of fun and when it comes to the original "Scream Queens," I'd say the actresses of DS set the bar. The series actors appear in many roles throughout the series and the acting is truly enjoyable. I quickly became a fan of the fabulous Joan Bennett and have now been watching her old movies (I highly recommend Fritz Lang's 1944 "The Woman in the Window"!) The character of Barnabus the Vampire could have only been played by the Canadian classic stage actor Jonathan Frid. I could go on about all the amazing talent, but I think I'd run out of room! However, for all the original "Charlie's Angels" fans, "Dark Shadows" introduces us to Kate Jackson! One last note, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" TV series fans will also love this and recognize many plot ideas and inspiration. Tantalized, yet?!

Their wasn't much technology as their is today. Today you can just download it on your phone 📱 and watch it. I prefer keeping copies of movies on blue ray and dvds for just in case. A spooky show best watched after dark.
I've never purchased such a massive collection of DVD's for one TV series (128) with over 1200 episodes. The show aired 5 days a week for 5 years. It comes with a program guide listing every episode and the special features included. I haven't watched the show for 50 years so I'm just remembering the various characters but I remember being glued to the TV when I came home from school watching the episodes on ABC. It is a great show to watch with Halloween approaching.

This has to be the best of the best for the Dark Shadow's fan, once you start watching you cannot stop.Deluxe booklet with episode summaries & photographs Special Bloopers, Treasures & Behind The Scenes DVD s 1200+ episodes of this classic gothic-soap opera! The Disc come in a Beautiful coffin box that is well made. Coffin Box is a work of art and very sturdy. No issues with holding Disc's The picture quality is a pleasant surprise given the age of the videotape sources, and noticeably better-looking than the streaming versions, particularly the early B&W episodes. Very Happy with the price and the purchase

Better than expected
Better than expected, considering that the set I bought is a knockoff and not an original set produced by MPI. This was known before purchase, but the price is so much lower than an original set, if you can find one. Only concern/issues is that the fact it is counterfeit and it is purported to be from MPI and as other viewers have noted, the coffin is poor quality and the corners often tear, even before you receive it.

This box set is perfect for any fan of the series, as it is shaped like a coffin and the DVDs inside make up a picture of sleeping Barnabas. It will blow my mom away when I get to give her this for her birthday. Great find.
