Superb device, powerful, unobtrusive and just brilliant!
Our ageing 'smart' TV is now no longer being supported with updates and could at best be described as 'moderately intelligent', but the picture is still stunning and significantly better than the majority of the current models that we looked at. We were seriously considering spending well over a grand on a stunning looking OLED model until the sales assistant, trying to sell us a comprehensive insurance policy, foolishly pointed out the apparent fragility of the wafer-thin screen. Not wanting our living room to become a no go area for boisterous small people, we walked away and left the sales assistant kicking herself! I then bought a tiny but immensely powerful Roku box for a few pounds - so simple to install, discrete mounting on top of our sound bar, fantastic app on our mobile phones that makes it so quick and easy to set up and use, problem solved! TV upgraded to PhD brilliance, bank account feeling much healthier and small people free to continue roaming rampant and indulge in Nerf wars - What's not to like??!!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

No volume control - big mistake
It is no too bad but there is no volume control on my Roku Box Express HD, big mistake. My previous Roku had one that ran out of updates and would not work any more had a volume control but not the latest model! We did not appreciate that it did not have the volume controls We then had to purchase a new tv and the new Roku was the right one for this tv and one has to have the two controls all the time simply because of NO volume control. For an extra pound or two you could have fitted the volume controls, in fact, why did you decide not to fit them? We would have returned them but I am under house lock down because I am 73 and I have some serious illnesses that confine me to not even to go go out of the front and back doors. Quality Output, Easy Set Up and Use
It is designed to be easy to use. There are dedicated buttons for common streamers like netflix or spotify. For others, eg in UK, BBC, ITV, 4 and 5 there is a home screen accessible by one button. You can rearrange icon locations at will so favorites are at top. Leaving streams is via a back button. After ease, quality. Superb!
For ease of setup and use, quality of streaming and content, this little box has everything. I started a few years ago with the express model and after upgrading my tv to 4k , I purchased the Roku premiere and the sound quality and picture is absolutely superb. Fast, stable and plentiful apps
I have a decent 4K branded TV and it does have smart features, but what it lacked is performance. Menus would lag, it would would randomly restart its self. My biggest issue was the Plex app but no longer thanks to my Roku Premiere 4K. It is very fast, stable and has loads of apps. Perfect All Round 4K Streamer/Media Player
Roku make the NOW TV boxes but buying the Roku Premier means that you’re not tied into them unless you want to be. The Roku Premier benefits from plenty of downloadable Channels/Apps including NOW TV. I bought it as a media player for my DNLA compatible NAS storage. Using the Roku Media Player Channel you can connect to your NAS storage and view High Def Files (HEVC). To play the same files using a chrome cast you would need to buy the Chromecast Ultra for twice the price. very easy to set up just worked from the box. It has a huge range of channels which I have not yet had the opportunity to explore in full, but I am sure that anything anybody could want will be on there somewhere.
