  • Perfect solution - works Great..!

I work in a metal building with no windows... doors closed and climate controlled... This Hybrid unit with 4 wired and 2 wireless cameras works perfectly to watch for guests and keep an eye on my Shop while I’m away..! Easy to install and set up even for me, a senior citizen with very little computer knowledge... Works great on my smart phone monitoring while I’m away from home. I recommend this unit to anyone wanting the security and peace of mind without paying a monthly fee to a security company. Reasonably priced and quick delivery..!!! Thanks..!!!

  • For the price, it's... just OK

The cameras are great, especially the 1080p wireless cameras. The DVR is a bit below average though. It's nice and compact and quiet, and the wireless range is good. The problem is the software. It's is not as user friendly as some higher priced units. Tthere is a bug worth mentioning. If you set the push notifications on a schedule, it completely disables any recordings on that camera for the time when the push notifications are off schedule. This was a disappointment as I only wanted notifications during certain hours on certain cameras, however it SHOULD HAVE still been recording on motion during the off hours. Big let-down! Also, the worst part of all is the smartphone app. It's extremely buggy, and slow, disconnects for no reason, cannot view the most recent recordings, etc etc etc. If you want to be able to quickly monitor situations based on alerts to your phone, DO NOT buy this system. If you just need to have recordings without quick access, this is a decent budget friendly system.

  • Not Bad

Some strange flaws but I like it. Tech support can't usually help much and they tell u some pretty crazy stuff. There are fixes and tricks I had to figure out on my own. They don't know any real tech stuff. They don't provide any program downloads so if the programming gets corrupted you're out of luck. Maybe take the HD out and save a copy of it to PC if needed later? Best thing about these is if they are plugged in they are recording. After outages etc they come right back on and record. They are compatible with about any camera (even camcorders) if you know the electronics of how to adapt them. I'd suggest buying two so if something goes bad. They seem durable so far except the auto upgrade program got corrupted so I have to keep it on manual. All cams still working after 6 months.

  • Good System For The Price

I purchased this system to replace a very cheap 3 year old system which lost its night vision, and that had a lousy motion-sensing process. I bought the hybrid system because I needed 2 additional cameras but didn't want to do all of the cabling. Unpacking the system I was very impressed by the quality of the 2 wireless cameras: Aluminum housings and great build quality, quite hefty for their size. The picture quality of these cameras is superb, but more on that later. The wired cameras, though plastic, are far better than the cheap ones on the market and have a great picture. The night vision is so bright that you have to turn down the brightness in the setup process. The system does have it's negatives however. The biggest one is the wireless range. The claim that it has a 500'range is patently absurd, even "open-field" which is disingenuous to begin with because who mounts these systems in an open field. In the real world where the signal must penetrate walls the maximum distance you can expect is 30'-40', and that is to receive a 2-bar signal. If that signal falls to 1 bar the picture quality degrades significantly. Another fault is the recording schedule: You cannot chose to simply not record during certain periods, it's either constant record or motion 24/7. The last negative I will bring up is the spotlight on the wired cameras. It is active 24 hours a day with no option to turn it off other than always off. It's a silly, easily corrected flaw where it turns on when the night vision LEDs come on. Also, although the reason for it is a deterrent to an intruder (it is quite bright), its brightness washes out the subsequent video recording. My suggestion is to turn them off permanently in programming. Although not a function of the system per-se, the smart phone app is simply not reliable at all. It has a propensity to not connect to your device (more often not than positive). IF it connects then the video stream is pretty good. I haven't had the opportunity to try the audio to/from the w/l cameras so I cannot comment on that function.
