    Good but a bit messy

    Have used this on 2 motorbike tanks now and it appears to do a good job of converting the rust and leaving a sound surface for sealing. The first tank was easy because it had 2 quite large drain holes; the second only had a single outlet about 8mm dia and fitted with a filter. This made draining the solution a messy and difficult business. I know this is not the fault of the product but this is just a warning that it's not always plain sailing. 1 litre was more than enough to do the 2 tanks, so I think it's good value for money.

    I have been using this for the past four years and so far with great effect. The spray applicator makes it easy to apply and to get in to awkward and boxed areas and being liquid it spreads. So far so good.

    great stuff

    Just brush away loose dirt and paint. Brush on some Fertan and leave it for a day to work its magic. It turns black then all you need to do is brush or wipe away the black stuff leaving you rust-free!

    Best rust preventer I've used

    I started using Fertan on the steel keels of my small sailing boat. Applying a coat each year with the anti foul straight on top has now produced a surface which barely shows signs of corrosion or rust even in salt water. My gate hinges, trailer bolts, bits on my Triumph motor bike all benefit. Superb product.

    Wait to see if it does what it claims

    Seems to turn rust to a black dust which is swept or washed off leaving a paintable surface but we wont know if its good value or good quality for a few years.

    Not impressed

    Very disappointed with this. Supposed to be good stuff, so don't know why it didn't appear to work well on rusty areas of our narrowboat. Using Owatrol oil now. Much more Happy with that
