Bang for the buck? Not to shabby!

I would have gave it five stars, but the carafe lid requires a good amount of tightening to prevent dripping, so much so that the thumb button is no longer stream lined with the carafe, and that makes pouring slightly awkward. Definitely not a deal breaker though. It does make a great, HOT, cup of coffee however. And the carafe seems to keep the coffee piping hot for more than an adequate amount of time. Brew time is quick and operation is simple. Happy with my purchase.

Perfectly fine, but not sure why all the accolades

I bought this after seeing several articles proclaiming it the best coffeemaker under a jillion dollars, the one baristas recommend, etc. It's perfectly fine and works great, but I just don't see that much of a difference from my old, more inexpensive coffeemaker. I was hesitant to purchase because I like my coffee really hot and I was wondering if the thermal carafe would keep it as hot as I like it -- and unfortunately, it does not. It's not cold or anything, just not as hot as when first brewed, so I end up having to stick my second cup in the microwave if it has been longer than 15 minutes or so. On the upside, the carafe negates the need for a burner to keep it warm, so it doesn't get that burnt/old taste like a traditional coffeemaker with a glass carafe. All in all, it's a solid coffeemaker and I will keep it, I just don't think it's special enough to cost as much as it does.

  • Tastes like real coffee..............

Finally a drip coffee maker that makes coffee that tastes like real coffee. I don't like the "Mr. Coffee" style basket filters though. I prefer the No. 4 cone filters. The basket filter edges will occasionally fold over, blocking the water stream from saturating the ground coffee. All in all.........a good product..........

  • Yes, the Bonavita BV1901TS is WORTH it!!

I have been pouring water over fresh grounds in my home made filter/thermos setup for 30 years. Time to take some time off and have a machine do it for me.. I noticed the Bonavita BV1901TS in a mini-review recently in the SF Chronicle. Read up on it, then found a reputable source on eBay. Glad I did. Great value, makes perfect coffee, especially using the Pre-infusion Mode. Can't recommend it more!!

  • would not buy again

Measurement's only on 1 side of reservoir ok no big deal, No pause to grab a cup of coffee.,pot does not fit under maker with lid on,and don't lose the lid because you can't pour with out it! you have to wait till it stops dripping to pull pot out,you will clean up after each use.For the price it should have the extra's! Save money an buy the 1900 model if you really want this clunker, the 1901 is no real upgrade. My last maker made hot coffee, this one no better than it was.My mistake.

  • Great coffee maker once you adapt to it !

Makes a great cup of coffee after the learning curve of using less ground coffee than you did in the past. Instruction manual is minimalist. I have had zero problems in pouring from the carafe as described by other buyers.

  • Best coffeemaker we've owned

This brews great-tasting coffee at the right temperature into a thermal carafe so it doesn't taste burned or anything – best coffeemaker we've ever owned. The carafe is hard to get all the water out of because of how the lip inside is, and it's certainly not the most convenient coffeemaker…but if you're buying it for flavor and not bells and whistles, I don't know what more you could ask for.

  • USED? Hardly. Very great machine.

Extremely intuitive to use (being that there's only one button). I used to have a cheap coffee maker and found some reviews of the Connoisseur that all said that the quality of brew you got would be fantastic from this machine. Well, I can honestly say that my coffee has never tasted this good! Wish I would have scrapped the old coffee maker a while ago! The product description said that it was used and would need to be cleaned. I, of course, cleaned it. But it looked pretty much unused and I would clean most any product before using it anyway. All in all, very happy with what I bought.

  • Good generic machine, solid enough.

Developed a cap leak on first pour of every full pot brew, purchased a new cap to fix problem, but still leaks. Have to over-tighten cap which results in reduced flow.

  • A waste of money

Every time to fill up the water tank/container it splashes water everywhere. The design is not practical. Then, when you use the thermal carafe it leaks. Even if you tight it hard, and then the thumb button will be completely unaligned, it leaks coffee when pouring. Plus, the coffee stays warm 20 minutes, after that you'll need to use your microwave. Very disappointed with this product. Not worth the value.
