Great product at a good price
I have purchased this product several times. My first purchase of a similar product was far more expensive and Jarder does the same job at a far better price. I admit that I did clean my patio with a jet cleaner before applying this other alternative cleaner (not Jarder). This was not a conscious decision - I simply did what I always did and then decided that spending well over a day jet spraying the paved areas was getting a little too much for me! I spray the paved areas probably twice a year and I am no longer presented with a black/green patio come Spring. It is so quick and easy to apply. Some of my slabs are extremely old and even with a jet spray I was not able to remove all the black pitted spots. Over time these have disappeared and my mixture of old and (at one time) new slabs are blending in very nicely. I am not looking for a brand new look - rather a clean and natural look, and that is what I get with Jarder. Just didn't work on my decking
I sprayed this on as instructions directed and there was very little effect after three days. I then mixed a stronger version and sprayed again and then again, still very little effect. I finished up power washing the decking as I would have before I bought the product - it didn't even make removing the mould/algae easier with the power washer. Great results - but be patient.
I rate Jarder Spray and Leave the best general stone and gravel cleaner on the market. It really does work - BUT - it isn't an "instant" cleaner. The clue is in the name "Spray and Leave" - you have to leave it for a while to appreciate how it works. If you're expecting to see a dramatic change after a few hours or days even - forget it. This stuff is a powerful long-acting surface surfactant and needs to dry and be absorbed into the skin of the gravel or stonework and left to do its magic for at least a werk or tw obefore you start to see the improvement.. Then, the sight of your mucky gravel and algae-stained flagstones slowly turning bright and clean as new over the weeks without you having to lift a finger is definitely one of life's little pleasures (assuming you're not a "patina" (ie: filth) junkie). Before I tried Jarder, I'd previously spent hours and hours every 6 months with a pressure washer, getting dirty and soaked and clearing up mounds of slimy crud and wasting a ton of water and power, not to mention bored right out of my head. Ideally to apply diluted Jarder you need a backpack sprayer (15L is comfortable - 20L and you have to be young and fit) which you can get on eBay for £15 to £18 - not expensive at all, This will do the average patio/drive/gravel borders in 30 minutes using less than one 5L pack of Jarder, though I'd recommend buying the 3 or 4 x 5L packs - you'll definitely use it again, and it works out a lot cheaper. Quiet, quick, clean, you stay dry and the noise doesn't annoy your neighbours and it doesn't smell like you just opened a paint factory. That's one pain in the rear job done for another year. All you do now is watch and wait. Wait for the compliments in a couple of months how lovely your garden's looking, and the comments about your new drive. Just make sure you spray ALL of the area you want to clean and don't miss a strip like I did - it will stick out like a sore (dirty) thumb after Jarder's done its magic. So save yourself a ton of work and let Jarder clean up for you. Just be patient, that's all.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

This stuff actually works a treat.
This stuff really works, which is great because how often do you read the claims and find them to be totally false. This stuff is very good value as well compared to others available. I use it to kill the moss/algae/green stuff that accumulates on the sloping roof of my carport and it works a treat. After a couple of days, it is as clear as a bell. Apply it on a period of dry weather and it'll protect for several months or more. I find that a concentration of 1:5 (1 Jarder to 5 of water) works well. It works a treat killing the moss on the driveway and patio as well. I think that the batch of 4 x5L bottles offers the best value and I'm on my second purchase.
